There are many options when choosing the website builder or content management system to create your photo blog. I think WordPress is one of the best choices you can go with. I’ve used it for a lot of my websites including my photo blogs. WordPress continues to grow in popularity, and a significant percentage of all websites online are WP sites.
Here are five great reasons you should consider using WordPress for your photo blog:
1. It’s Free.
Most (if not all) web hosting plans includes WordPress, so you don’t have to spend any additional money on software.
2. It’s Very Easy to Use.
Unless you have no tech aptitude at all, WordPress is very easy to get started creating your website. And since you’re a photographer, I would think you are plenty tech savvy to dive in with WP.
3. It’s Very Customizable.
You can add just about any functionality you need to include on your photo blog. Many of the newer WP themes are including more design options. And, if you need additional functions, you can usually find a plugin that will give you what you need.
4. It’s Widely Available.
As I mentioned in reason #1, you’ll be hard pressed to find a web host that doesn’t offer WordPress. In fact, there are some web hosting companies that specialize in offering managed WordPress web hosting.
5. It’s Easy to Find Support.
If you have a question or problem, you can usually find a solution from one of the many online resources available—including wordpress.org itself!
I would encourage all photographers that are creating a blog or website to consider trying out WordPress. While there may be some that prefer a different tool, I think the above reasons alone warrant your consideration.
