With the amount of software tools available to photographers, these days most serious photogs rarely just take their photos directly from the camera and post them on their websites. The whole concept of workflow for photographers has become a necessity for producing and presenting quality images. There are lots of software tools you can use to help you out.
My workflow is probably one of the more popular ones being used. Once I take photos with my DSLR, I’ll download them into Adobe Lightroom for any basic adjusting needed. I’ll then do more in depth editing in Adobe Photoshop, after which I’ll post the images online. Notice I mentioned my DSLR in this workflow. If I’ve been out shooting with a point and shoot or my smartphone camera for my personal use, then the workflow would probably different.
Here are some of the more popular photography software packages that you can use to streamline your workflow.
- Adobe Lightroom
- Adobe Photoshop
- Capture One Pro 7
- Corel PaintShop Pro
- Darkroom Software
