Meta Slider by Matcha Labs is one of the coolest and easiest to use slider plugins for WordPress I’ve encountered. This plugin lets you choose from four different styles of sliders (Flex, Responsive, Nivo, and Coin) that you can add to your posts or pages using shortcodes. With Meta Slider, you add images from your WP media library along with any caption text you want to add and a destination URL where the user is taken if they click the current slider image.
The Meta Slider Dashboard is very easy to use.
To create a slider, click the Add Slide button to add an image from your media library. You can then add captions and a destination URL.
You can set and change the appearance settings from the options on the right side.
You specify which type of slider you want:
To add the slider to your post or page, just insert the shortcode that is located in the lower right corner of the dashboard. You can also add the slider to your template by using the Template Include code found below the shortcode.
I’ve found the free version of the plugin (Meta Slider Lite) to be more than adequate for the sliders I need to add to my sites. However, the pro version of Meta Slider (currently $19) offers you even more options. If you’ve been searching for a good slider plugin for your WordPress blog, I’d suggest you check out Meta Slider.
