Affiliate Summit is one of the conferences I always try to attend. Last week, Affiliate Summit West 2016 was held at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. As usual, it was a great opportunity to network and get great tips on monetizing your blogs.
ASW 2016 took place January 10 – January 12, with its normal Sunday to Tuesday format. However, this year there were a number of new events in addition to the Meet Market, Exhibit Hall, Educational Sessions, and Keynote Speeches. On Sunday, they held the first RevShare Roundup, where you could meet up with companies offering revenue sharing affiliate programs. And on Tuesday, for the first time, they held a 1 on 1 Speaker Q&A session where you could speak one on one with some of the speakers from the three days of education sessions.
Here are some of the highlights from Affiliate Summit West 2016:
On Sunday, January 10, besides the First Timer Orientation session, some of the education sessions that took place were:
- Six Figure Blogging: Ask the Experts & Secrets Revealed
- Blogger Outreach Strategies that Don’t Suck
- How to Optimize Images for Social Media Sharing
- Optimize WordPress Like a Super Affiliate
- Out of the Box SEO Tactics that Will Blow Your Mind
On Monday, January 11, Kerri Pollard was this year’s keynote speaker. And, there were more great sessions such as:
- SEO: Ask Me Anything
- How to Dominate Any Industry through Digital Marketing
- Best Practices for Managing a Virtual Workforce
- Ask the Experts Roundtable
On Tuesday, January 12, the annual Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Awards were presented to those being recognized for exceptional affiliate marketing performances. Some of the education sessions held that day were:
- Managing Blogger Expectations
- 5 Musts for Mobile Ad Campaign Success
- 1 on 1 Speaker Q&A
As always, I came away from this year’s Affiliate Summit West with a bunch of new ideas and things to work on with my blogs. Attending the education sessions is a great way to pick up new tips on blogging, monetization, and website promotion. But the most valuable parts of the conference for many are the networking opportunities. The Exhibit Hall and Meet Market are a great place to make contacts with the people representing affiliate management companies. However, there are also many after hour parties and other events going on during the conference week where you can also meet with affiliate management contacts as well as fellow bloggers and affiliates. In fact, many contacts are made just within the halls of the conference where a bunch of impromptu meetings go on.
I highly recommend attending Affiliate Summit to all bloggers interested in making money with their websites. The next Affiliate Summit conference, Affiliate Summit East 2016, will be held in New York on July 31 to August 2.
