Seems like these days everyone is taking pictures with their smartphones–and why not? Smartphones are portable, convenient, and recent technology advancements have improved the quality of their output. In fact, according to a recent article on venturebeat.com, smartphone photography is forcing camera companies like Nikon and Canon to rethink their camera strategies. Even though Nikon and Canon’s cameras may be technically superior, it seems the majority of consumers still like the convenience of smartphone cameras more.
But what about more serious photographers? For me personally, although I do take a lot of photos with my smartphone, I certainly don’t consider it a replacement for my compact 4×3 much less my digital SLRs. However, that’s not to say you can’t use your smartphone to produce content for your photo blog. Do a search online and you’ll find quite a few photo blogs full of great smartphone photography content.
Here are just a few examples:

Smartphone cameras have certainly taken the popularity of photography to a different level—allowing millions of smartphone owners to capture interesting images at their convenience. And while the majority of photos I take are still with the bigger cameras, I’d certainly not hesitate to add some of my smartphone photos to my blogs.
